| Simon & Louise welcome you to The Red Lion, a 400 year old traditional country pub in the heart of Northamptonshire serving tasty food, great wine and an ever changing section of real ales. We met at university and after graduating did the usual - got a job and bought a house. After a couple of years of domestic bliss (!) we decided that before we settled down properly we needed to get a bit more ‘life experience’ and we set off to travel the world. We spent several months in far flung places and ended up in Morzine in the French Alps. Here we worked in various chalets, restaurants and bars and even started our own chalet management company which we ran for three years. |
Our experiences here working for various other young couples running their own businesses made us realise that we would like to do something similar back in the UK, and in July 2011 we were lucky enough to sign the lease for The Red Lion. We’ve already made a few changes to the interior which has made the pub feel even cosier. We value the fact that The Red Lion is a traditional country pub that has been in the village for many years and is valued by the community. We want to build on this to create a comfortable and friendly atmosphere, offering great food and excellent service. In other words ‘a proper English pub’!
